Through its joint study structure for future screenwriters, directors and producers, the Film Studies Program with a specialization in Screenwriting, Film Directing and Creative Producing provides a job-oriented specialization as well as promotes a common understanding of narrative material, dramaturgy, artistic expression, and production strategies. Since 2002, we admit approximately 30 students to the program every 2 years, who graduate with a »Bachelor of Arts« degree.
During their joint basic introductory program, all the students gather experience in the most important artistic processes of filmmaking such as writing, acting, editing and camera work. Simultaneously, a rotation of key roles enables each of the participants to assume responsibility on the set. This experience later enables the future filmmakers to make their first short films upon the role basis of directing, scriptwriting and production. Equal value is placed as much on creating a solid foundation in media studies and film history as on developing the technical skills required for filmmaking. Furthermore, with our creativity and communication trainings, we aim to promote the development of our students’ artistic personalities in the best possible way. | | |
