The teaching staff of the study and further education programs at the ifs consists of professionals working in both the national and international film and television industries. Working with professionals ensures the transfer of cutting-edge specialized knowledge, expertise and practical experience as well as supports the expansion of contacts in the industry and the development of new networks. The international range of our lecturers guarantees not only a high level of education but also a vision that extends beyond national horizons and opens up new perspectives. The Film Studies Program is constantly supervised and supported by a total of seven professors: the directors Hans-Erich Viet for Feature Film Directing and Dominik Wessely for Documentary Film, the producer Gerd Haag for Creative Producing, the author and director Sylke Rene Meyer for Screenwriting/ Dramaturgy, Dr. Gundolf S. Freyermuth for Comparative Media Studies with a Specialization in Audiovisual Arts and Communication, Dr. Lisa Gotto as substitute professor for Film History / Film Analysis and Dominik Graf as Honorary Professor for Feature Film Directing.Professor André Bendocchi-Alves supervises students in the »Editing Picture and Sound« program.With the start of the winter semester 2010/11 the new professors for the Study Program Director of Photography, David Slama for Feature Film and Stephanie Hardt for Documentary Film start working at the ifs.As designated professor Dr. Andrea Gschwendtner took over the head of studies and in addition teaches in the field Digital Communication / Advertisement.
