Approval of the interest-free loan depends on the funds available and the applicant’s financial situation. The Student Education Fund Advisory Board has been set up as an organ of the Friends of the ifs Society. This board consists of ifs students, who make recommendations for loans to the Friends of the ifs Society. The Student Education Fund is financed through contributions and donations. Repayment of the loan commences 6 months after termination of the education. Students of the Bachelor programs are principally eligible for »BAföG«, the German Federal Student Financial Aid Loan. The eligibility for BAföG-Loans is decided upon by the German Federal Student Financial Aid office.
