Summer School Screenwriting: Advanced

Building on the great success of the introductory course »Summer School Screenwriting« in 2019, this class is dedicated to what comes next: deepening the dramatic impact through rewriting. On two consecutive weekends, and supported by renowned screenwriter and script consultant Keith Cun-ningham (»The Soul of Screenwriting«), a group of aspiring writers will hone their rewriting skills, focusing on further shaping their characters, confl icts, scenes & dialogues. Using a central scene of a current project as the dramatic focus, participants explore various tools to convey character, story, structure, theme, and tone in more visual, more subtle or more multi-layered ways. This intense advanced program aims both at last year’s summer school participants and other aspiring screenwriters with a solid basic knowledge of screenwriting and dramaturgy.
