Born in Izmir, Asli Filiz studied Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. In 2005 she began to work for Bir Film in film distribution before she went into the field of producing. In 2006, she attended an art-house film networking workshop organized by CICAE in Venice. She worked for Egg and Milk by Semih Kaplanoglu in 2008 as associate producer. In 2009 she was invited to Talent Campus at Berlinale Film Festival and also attended to the workshop on »Co-producing in and with Eastern Europe« in Georgia. After producing several award-winning films as a freelance producer, Asli worked as head of productions at Bir Film. Among the films she produced are »Zephyr« (2010) by Belma Baş, which premiered at Toronto Film Festival, »Future Lasts Forever« (2011) by Özcan Alper, which premiered at Toronto Film Festival, »Voice of my Father« (2012) by Orhan Eskiköy and Zeynel Doğan, which premiered at Rotterdam Film Festival, »Mix Tape« (2014) by Tunç Şahin, and »The Gulf« (2017) by Emre Yeksan, which premiered at Venice Film Festival. In 2017 she produced episodic series »7 Faces« for an online platform, BluTV, and continues to develop series projects. She is a graduate of EAVE 2016.
