Ricardo Ortega is a born and raised Mexican who has always been fascinated with the fictional worlds that can be created through words. At a very young age, he started writing short stories (inspired mainly by the supernatural/magic genre), then his interest turned towards micro fiction (writing pseudo-poems inspired by his then blossoming pubescent/teen love life). Finally, he studied Media with an emphasis on Film. He wrote, directed, and edited his short film thesis, »Oblación«. During this process he found he had a knack for editing and started his professional career chopping up and crafting videos (mainly digital content) while also freelancing in screenwriting projects. He ghost-wrote a feature film script for a straight-to-TV movie, co-wrote a fantasy script, proofed eight scripts, and helped develop three production binders for projects that were looking for state funding. Now the journey has come full circle, with him returning to thoroughly study the craft that made him fall in love with the audiovisual mediums: writing.
