In the drama “LABEL ME” the relationship between the heterosexual Syrian Waseem and his German suitor Lars is clearly regulated. While the unequal men get closer and closer to each other in their longing for security, their friendship increasingly becomes a danger in the reality of Waseem’s refugee accomodation. The film is supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.
The German First Steps awards for young filmmakers will be presented on 9 September 2019 at the Stage Theater des Westens in Berlin. The First Steps Award celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. As a competition for graduation films from German-speaking film schools, it is the most important German prize for young talents.
