On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the ifs presents a #ifsfilmderwoche online every Tuesday.

The eight film in the series is the graduation film »Home Game« (2009) by Bogdana Vera Lorenz (director), Max Permantier (producer) und René Schumacher (screenplay), from the 3rd year of the bachelor’s program in film.

The drama with Wotan Wilke Möhring in the leading role won the German Film Critics’ Short Film Award 2009 and the Grand Prix for Best Film at the Open St. Petersburg Student Film Festival »Beginning« 2010, was nominated for the FIRST STEPS Award 2010 and has been screened internationally at festivals. »Home Game« was supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the CNA (Centre national de l’audiovisuel Luxembourg), in cooperation with the FH Dortmund.
The film was used by the Police Crime Prevention of the Federal States and the Federal Government for prevention of violence in youth work.

Andreas Vossen (Wotan Wilke Möhring) is a teacher – and hooligan. When a new pupil (Kai Malina) threatens his double life, a duel begins, which drives him more and more into a corner in both worlds..

Director Bogdana Vera Lorenz
Bogdana Vera Lorenz studied »Directing« at the ifs in the 3rd year of the BA Film and graduated in 2009. In 2008 she also worked as an intern with Lars von Trier and attended the master class of Danny Boyle at the EFA. Her German-Polish project »Rage against the Regime!« was nominated for the European Co-Production Prize of the Robert Bosch Foundation in 2012. Her Sci-Fi project »Schwarzer Schlaf (AT)« is supervised by the First Movie Program of the Bavarian Film Center. In 2017 she made her directorial debut with the psychological thriller chamber play »LOCKDOWN«, which she wrote with Max Permantier. Her next joint feature film project »Hetzjagd« is funded by the ZDF Innovation Fund.

Producer Max Permantier
Max Permantier studied »Creative Producing« at the ifs in the 3rd year of the BA Film and graduated in 2010. In 2011 he was the author of the script workshop at Bavaria Film und Fernsehproduktion GmbH until he joined FR Entertainment GmbH as a producer in 2012. Here he developed and supervised various fictional formats, from feature films to series and transmedia projects. Since 2016 Max Permantier has been working as a freelance producer and author with various partners. In this capacity together with FR Entertainment, he produced the thriller »LOCKDOWN« by Bogdana Vera Lorenz (which they co-wrote) from 2016 until 2017. The film was made in co-production with »Das kleine Fernsehspiel – ZDF« and is distributed internationally by ARRI Media. As a freelance creative producer, Max Permantier is in charge of fictional formats for production companies and TV stations, among others.

Screenwriter René Schumacher
René Schumacher studied screenwriting in the 3rd year of the BA Film at the ifs and graduated in 2009. Since then he has been working as a freelance author for films and computer games. In 2012, he recieved a screenplay grant from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW for the cinema screenplay »Taubenland«. He is a scholarship holder of the DEFA Foundation, which supports him in his project »A strange world – life after Srebrenica«. In the field of computer games, he last worked as a writer for Deutsche Welle’s serious game series »Tatort: Elbkanal« at the end of 2019.
