ifs-film of the week: Kriegerstock

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the ifs presents a #ifsfilmderwoche online every Tuesday.

The graduation film »Kriegerstock« (2009) by Joseph Lippok (Director), Nathan Raimann (Screenplay) and Tobias Leveringhaus (Production) from the 3rd cohort is the 13th in the series. The short feature film was made in co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk and was funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. It was shown at the Max Ophüls Film Festival, the Max Ophüls Prize and the International Hofer Filmtage. Michael Degen and his daughter Elisabeth Degen excel in the leading roles.

The life of the artist Astrid is completely disrupted by her dementia-stricken father. His monologues and constantly repeated stories from the past rob her of her last nerve. It is only when Astrid begins to listen to him and to engage with his distorted world that the two get closer again. Astrid begins to create his and her shared story as a comic.

In addition to two productions that are currently in progress, the scenic poetry film »Der Schleier« (The Veil) was made in 2019, based on poems by Norbert Hummelt and funded by the Kunststiftung NRW.
