On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the ifs presents a #ifsfilmderwoche online every Tuesday.
»Look Somewhere Else« (2012) is the 17th film in the series. The short fiction film is the graduation film of Charlotte Rolfes (director), Anna Jungemann (producer) and Jakob Jendryka from the 4th year of the bachelor’s programme in film. It was the best film of the NRW competition at the 58th Int. Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, was chosen as the best supporting film of the exground youth days 2012 and received an honourable mention at the Cologne Design Award 2012.
How can you know something and yet forget it? How can you forget something and it is still there? JANNA (Sinje Irslinger) is 15 and was sexually abused in her childhood. The hidden comes up again when she meets the 14-year-old NIKLAS (Jasper Smets). Janna relives the abuse – and becomes the perpetrator.
Director Charlotte Rolfes
Charlotte Rolfes studied directing in the 4th year of the BA Film at the ifs. After graduating in 2012, she went on to study for a master’s degree at the Hamburg Media School and the mentoring programme Into The Wild. In 2017 she directed the children’s series »Junas fantastische Reise« (ARD). She is currently preparing the feature films »Mein bester letzter Sommer« and »Rotkäppchen muss sterben«, for which she is also working as a screenwriter and co-author.
Producer Anna Jungemann (born Knolle)
Anna Knolle studied creative production at the ifs, also in the 4th year of the BA Film. After graduating in 2012 she worked as a production assistant and production manager at MADE IN GERMANY Filmproduction. Since 2014 she lives and works in Lippstadt as Creative Assistant and Project Manager in the gotoMEDIA advertising and media agency.
Editor & Sound Designer Jakob Jendryka
Jakob Jendryka studied audio-visual editing in his first year at the ifs and graduated in 2012.
