On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the ifs presents a #ifsfilmderwoche online every Tuesday.
»Promise« (2018) from the 3rd semester is a documentary film by Bünyamin Musullu (Director), Charly Hoffmann (Producer), Malte Hafner (DoP), Jelena Lützel (Sound) and Maximilian Rodegra (Editing). »Promise« was awarded the audience award »Kölner Fenster« at the Short Film Festival Cologne, won the prize for the best documentary film at the Int. Festival of Film in Tetouan Morocco and was nominated for the »Golden Key« at the Documentary Film Festival Kassel.
Shopping, doing the laundry, talking to adults: The 10-year-old Promise doesn’t often have the opportunity to be a child. He lives in a hotel in Cologne with his mother, his siblings and many other refugees. With a camera, the boy roams through the corridors and rooms and gets a picture of this bizarre, new world.
