On the occasion of its 20th anniversary the ifs presents a #ifsfilmderwoche online every Tuesday.
»Spider Jazz« (2017) from the 5th semester is an animated film by Mick Mahler (director, screenplay, camera, production, editing), Maria Hartig (editing) and Friederike Dörffler (music). The short film was shown at the Festival of German Film in Madrid and Paris, among others, as well as at several other national and international festivals.
A spider passionately practices classical music on her self-spun instrument. When one day a fly gets caught in it, the spider learns that making music is not about perfection, but about improvisation and the fun of playing together.
