ifs films at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival

Family structures that could not be more different are the focus of the two ifs films screened at this year’s online edition of the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival (Jan. 17-24, 2021):  »Jackfruit«, graduation film by Thuy Trang Nguyen (R), Sarina Laudam (K), Ebru Sara Bilen (S/SD) and  »Rotten Candy« from the 5th semester by Jade Li (R/DB), Christopher Albrodt (P), Marius Kimmel (P), Nina Meyer (DB), Thorsten Schönrade (K), Friederike Dörffler (S/SD) celebrate their premieres in the Medium-Length Film competition. Together with eight other films, they are competing in this category for both the jury prize and an audience award, each endowed with 5,000 euros. The films are available on the festival’s streaming platform. Each film will be accompanied by a moderated, live digital audience discussion with the director: Jan. 20, 7:30 p.m. for  »Rotten Candy« and Jan. 23, 1 p.m. for  »Jackfruit.«
