Studied philosophy, German language and literature in Cologne and theatre directing in Hamburg. 18 years of theatre practice. In 2000, editor, then editor at WDR and co-dramaturge for a 24-part series. 10 years as head of the script department of the BA film course at ifs Cologne as well as conception and implementation of the ifs writers' programme for professional writers with genre workshops. Dramaturgical advice, seminars on dramaturgy and pitch training. 2006 Training as a script editor at North by Northwest.

Since 2013, head of the drama department of the BKM, editing and pre-selection of all applications - as well as monitoring and industry networking of the funded projects. Since 2019, editor of the Strittmatter Prize (reading up to 160 scripts for 10 years). Freelance dramaturge for cinema material, screenplay lecturer at ifs Cologne, guest lecturer at UdK Berlin, mentor for final screenplay projects at dffb. Further contact with current material and narrative forms through various committee memberships such as at TP2 or Filmfestival Baden Baden.
