Vita

Coming from an Armenian family in Turkey, Karin Kaçi grew up near Cologne. After graduating from high school, she worked in a costume workshop and trained as a media designer. In 2005 she completed her film studies at the ifs internationale filmschule köln. Since then she has worked as a freelance screenwriter for cinema, series and TV. Her feature films have been screened at national and international festivals and have won several awards, including the Best First Feature Award Tallinn Black Nights and a Grimme Award nomination. Karin Kaçi has participated in various Writers' Rooms, has also written numerous narration texts for film radio plays and published books for young people (including "Homevideo", based on the multi-award-winning TV film).
