At the beginning of his career in the film industry, Dirk Meier, as co-founder of the company director's friend, facilitated the digital recording of the one-take feature film RUSSIAN ARK by Aleksander Sokurov and supervised it on location. He then switched to post-production and specialised in colour grading in addition to consulting for digital workflows. Since 2005 he has been working as a freelance colourist for companies at home and abroad on, among others, Lars von Trier's ANTICHRIST, Sebastian Lelio's Oscar-winning A FANTASTIC WOMAN, Alice Rohrwacher'S HAPPY AS LAZZARO and Roy Andersson'S ABOUT ENDLESSNESS.

He has been giving lectures and workshops since 1998, mainly for German and Scandinavian film schools, further education institutions and the Berlinale Talents. From 2015 to 2019 he designed and directed the world's first full-time training programme for colourists at the dffb in Berlin.
