Fabian Klein was born in Siegen in 1985. After his Abitur and an internship at "Art&Weise" media production in Marburg, he moved to Cologne in 2005 to train as a media designer for image & sound at WDR. After completing his training in 2008, he took a job as an editor at WDR, but found his great passion in image design. He also worked as a cameraman on various short film and documentary projects. In 2010 Fabian Klein left WDR to study to become Director of Photography at the ifs internationale filmschule köln under DoP David Slama. His graduation film "Nirwana" was nominated for the Michael Ballhaus Förderpreis in 2014. Since graduating in 2014, he has been working as a freelance Director of Photography / Image Designer.
