For me, art in general and film in particular means communication. If you want to communicate successfully, you have to have something to say - but also say it in such a way that other people want to listen. That's not always easy. I know what it's like to be a writer pacing up and down your apartment at night. Do I have nothing to tell at all? Or do I tell it so clumsily that no one will listen to me? But in the end I want to and I will: tell. It's important to me to give the audience something sincere. Whether it's a film or a series, whether it's a political statement or simply a good feeling or a laugh: The main thing is that I don't moralize from above or pander from below, but communicate with the viewer at eye level. For that, I'm happy to spend many nights pacing up and down my apartment.
