I found my way to film early on through my home VHS tape collection. Jack Nicholson's fabulous performance as the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman, I can still see it through a child's eyes. Many years later, I also understood why the Pulp Fiction cassette had a gold sticker star with a joyful smiley beaming on it.
While my enthusiasm for the medium of film continued to grow, I took my first professional steps in marketing. Early on, I became familiar with high responsibilities, learned communication, perseverance, persuasiveness and creative work. I felt especially comfortable in strategic tasks as well as in project management and recognized a strong parallel to the role of a film producer in the range of tasks and thus found an answer to the question of a suitable profession behind the camera.
So I completed the change of industry by studying at the ifs and developed further, both cinematically and personally, alongside many extraordinary and talented people. Since the end of my studies I have been working as a freelance filmmaker, open to many different forms of production and gradually preparing for larger debut productions. I am primarily addicted to tragedy and characters that explore moral chasms; I am comfortable in rougher and more propulsive narrative forms. That's why I see myself as a producer who, in the long run, wants to enrich German television and cinema specifically with works that have the courage to be controversial, uncompromising and vulnerable.
