Leben ist nur eine Entzugserscheinung

Basti is 21 years old, and the best thing in Basti's life is to smash the faces of other hooligans at the soccer game

The most beautiful thing used to be Janette, his great love. But somewhere between dreams of the newly laid parquet flooring in a shared future and the desire for freedom, Janette has left Basti. While Janette travels the world, Basti finds himself between lines of pep - who has money for coke in this economic climate - and complete emptiness.

Somehow it's nice, too. To give a high five to his best friend, grinning with chapped lips, because you really wanked off the shitty sons of bitches from the other club. But somehow it also just sucks, but who can you tell that, be so honest, that there is nothing despite the most beautiful high and the coolest victory at night alone on the way home? Basti can't tell anyone.
But just at the moment when Basti has accepted that he can never be honest with himself, he meets Vaja. Vaja is an artist and finds everything Basti does ridiculous. Especially the super-cool soccer guys who think they're rad because they throw their arms in the air, insult each other most disgustingly and jump in front of each other as if they were mating peacocks. But Vaja sees more than a peacock in Basti, and even if Basti doesn't want to admit it at first, he actually finds the incredibly cheeky person who has entered his life quite okay. Vaja listens to him. With everything. For a moment it seems okay to be honest.

Then Janette stands in front of Basti. Back from her world trip. Back in Basti's life - and Basti back in despair.
