No kissing. No passive penetration. For Waseem, the rules are clear: if he lets Lars pay him for sex, it’s only in a way he can somehow reconcile with his heterosexuality. On the one side the escaped Syrian in the asylum, on the other the well-off German with loft – the contrast couldn’t be stronger, and yet the two are connected by a deeper interest in each other. Their relationship is characterized by the interplay of dominance over one another and the longing for closeness.

The playful power struggle between the two increasingly reveals the men’s inability to hide their fears and longings from each other and to maintain the carefully constructed facades.

While both fight for the preservation of the drawers in their own heads, Waseem’s developing close friendship threatens to become a real danger in the reality of his home.
