The ifs is delighted to be one of the partner schools of the international 14-week, full-time training program EUREKA SERIES, one of the first programs of the newly created Series Mania Institute. The project-oriented program, developed together with Series Mania and the film schools La Fémis (France), ECAM (Spain), Lodz Film School (Poland), Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italy) and Westerdals Kristiana University College (Norway) is designed for experienced series writers and producers. Main focus of the four-month full-time training is the joint development of transnational projects aiming for European co-production. Candidates must have at least one credit (in writing or producing) either on a broadcast television series or an online drama or a short film or a feature film. This credit may either be professional or gained during training.
Participants will receive lectures, workshops and masterclasses, and work on their own original projects. The course culminates in a two-week residency, at the end of which projects will be pitched to a jury of broadcasters, including France Télévisions, RAI (Italy) and ZDF (Germany), who collectively form The Alliance.
- Create a European creative network to encourage the sharing of knowledge and creative ideas across borders
- Remove barriers between TV professionals, uniting writers, directors, producers and broadcasters around a common work culture, in order to improve the flow of the creative process and respond to an increase in production volume
- Open up the industry to more diverse profiles, allowing more representation in the stories that are told and in who is telling them.
