HANNES ERNST is First Unit Manager at Warner Bros. International Television Production Deutschland GmbH, overseeing the logistics and coordination of non-fiction productions.
Raised in the western part of Duisburg, he initially pursued acting on stage, though never as a long-term career path. Soon he realized that working backstage appealed to him more than studying Middle High German literature as part of his German degree. Through hands-on work in live event production - building stages, setting up equipment, and supporting crews – he discovered his passion for television production. His apprenticeship in the audiovisual media industry, together with a wide range of productions and extensive on-set experience around the globe, ultimately led him to his current position.
In recent years, he has worked on TV shows, reality formats, docutainment, and political satire for both public and private broadcasters, as well as for VoD and SVoD platforms in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Studying at ifs since 2025.
