As co-authors of audiovisual narratives, editors and sound designers contribute to the concept for image editing and sound design as early as the story development phase. They impress with their ability to reflect and their communication skills when they make creative decisions regarding dramaturgy, rhythm, spatiality, and intensity in dialogue with directors and producers. Their own artistic signature is always at the service of the narrative.
Thanks to their expertise in montage theory and cinematic dramaturgy, students are also able to familiarise themselves with new visual formats and narrative forms. In seminars and project work, they deepen their skills – from sample viewing to the final sound mix for theatrical release.
The programme provides professional software skills and enables students to implement complex post-production workflows according to industry standards. They have access to state-of-the-art technology: in-house edit suites, the voice and sound recording studio, and the Dolby-Atmos-licensed sound mixing studio.
