The ifs International Film School Cologne celebrated two anniversaries at once on 8 April 2025: its 25th anniversary and the graduation of the 10th year of the Bachelor's degree programme in Film.
60 graduates specialising in Screenwriting, Editing Image & Sound, Cinematography, Creative Producing, Directing, Production Design and VFX & Animation in the Bachelor's degree programme in Film presented their final projects to an industry audience in the ifs cinema. Graduation films, fictional and documentary - including animated films -, scripts for feature-length films and projects from the Creative Production and Production Design departments were presented.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the ifs, representatives from the state and city of Cologne as well as the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW were also invited to give welcoming speeches.
On 9 April, the Team, Friends & Family Screening of the ifs graduation films 2025 took place in the Cinedom, where the films were shown in full length.

Graduation BA Film & 25 years ifs

On 8 April 2025, over 350 guests came to the ifs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ifs and the completion of the 10th year of the BA Film. In the afternoon, there were trailers, pitches and project presentations in the ifs cinema before the double anniversary was toasted together in the evening. We were delighted to receive greetings from Brigitta von Bülow (Mayor of the City of Cologne), Walid Nakschbandi (Managing Director of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW) and David von Galen (Head of the Media Industry Department in the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia)! Important representatives of the NRW media industry were also guests, including numerous ifs alumni. The day was moderated by Paula Essam.

Team, Friends & Family screening in the Cinedom

On 9 April, the Team, Friends & Family screening of the ifs graduation films 2025 took place in the Cinedom. The graduates of the 10th year of the Bachelor's degree programme in Film presented their final projects in a festive ceremony.
16 graduation films were shown, including 2 animated films and 2 VFX projects. Eight final film projects were sponsored by the Young Talent Foundation Berlin, two others received support from the Huntington Foundation and the Beatrix Lichtken Foundation.
