From June 30 to July 2, the »Masterclass Bildgestaltung - Entwicklung einer filmischen Bildsprache« (Masterclass Image Design - Development of a Cinematic Visual Language) with cinematographer Bernd Fischer (among others German Television Award, category Best Camera for »Babylon Berlin«) took place at the ifs. Using a case study of the series »Babylon Berlin«, the students first examined how a consistent visual language can be initiated, for example, by finding references. The students conceived a small scene and realized it in small groups.
The shot material was then assembled and the results analyzed in the group. It was discussed with Bernd Fischer whether the design ideas were purposeful in their implementation and whether a consistent visual language was recognizable. As part of the cooperation between the camera courses at ifs and KHM, both institutions offer a joint master class in image design once a year for their students.
