Production design with architect Willem-Jan Beeren

Insights into works from the fourth semester BA Film students

Last week, the fourth semester BA Film students had the pleasure of meeting architect Willem-Jan Beeren and his expertise in teaching spatial theories/architecture. Impressions of the sensual perception of architecture, in which one traces principles of order and effect of spaces, are starting points of architectural and spatial theories. The effect of form and material, order and measure, and light and shadow in space were jointly explored and reflected on the basis of a self-produced headspace.

The lecturer Willem-Jan Beeren has been a Professor of Architecture and Art at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn since 2012. He is also a founding member of the artist group "beispielhaft.com" as well as the "ARGE BEEREN PETRY" and realizes projects in the field of architecture, art in construction, and art in public space.

Here are a few impressions of the practical headspace exercise and the subsequent reflection round, where the students let their individual headspaces affect each other and exchanged their sensory perceptions!
