Alexander Daus, born in 1985 in Zelinograd (Kazakhstan), immigrated to Germany at the age of 4 and grew up in Paderborn.
After graduating from high school in 2004, he found his way into film through his first theatre internships and short films, in which he acted as director, author and producer. In 2006, he moved to Berlin. There he completed two internships on television films and supported various short films as set manager, concept artist, scriptwriter and script doctor. In 2008, he began studying screenwriting at the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln. He graduated with a B.A. in screenwriting in 2012.
He is currently a freelance author and dramaturge. As a lecturer at the ifs Cologne, he has regularly given seminars at the BA Screenwriting and MA Serial Storytelling since 2012 and co-conceived and supervised workshops such as the Summerschool Screenwriting and the Summerschool Junior. In co-operation with the Filmwerkstatt Münster, he organises the Screenwriting Class. A long-term programme for the development of a feature-length film. He has also taught at MACROMEDIA and the TH KÖLN (Cologne Game Lab).
