BETH BARNES was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and lived there until her family relocated to Switzerland at the end of 2008. She is fluent in German as well as English and enjoys working in both languages. Her two most recent short films are currently on their film festival run with “To continue knowing (you)” celebrating its world premiere at Slamdance Film Festival in February 2026 and her bachelor graduation film “Eggshells” having had its international premiere at PÖFF Shorts at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and its world premiere at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, both in November 2025. During her bachelor’s degree in film at the Zurich University of the Arts (2020-2025) she truly discovered her love for screenwriting and her desire to become a screenwriter for series formats. Beth works as a freelance filmmaker and has experience as a production assistant in advertising. She has also worked as a translator for various film events, but the majority of her working hours have been spent waiting tables or pulling pints. Studying at the ifs since 2025.
