Edgar Medina is a distinguished figure in the world of cinema and television, recognized for his exceptional contributions to the industry. As member of the Emmys Academy, the European Film Academy, and the Specialized Section of Cinema and Audiovisual of the Portuguese National Council of Culture, Medina has earned acclaim as a personality of recognized merit. In April 2015, he founded Arquipélago Filmes, marking a significant milestone in his career.
As a showrunner, Medina has made notable contributions as an author, screenwriter, and producer. His series »Dogpack« (2024), which premiered on RTP1 and Prime Video Portugal, was one of only 15 shows worldwide selected for the Berlinale 2024 Series Market Selects. He also created the acclaimed series »Natural Law« (2022) and »South« (2019), both of which received the Portuguese Film Academy Sophia Award for Best Series/Telefilm and the Portuguese Society of Authors Award for Best Fiction Program.
In addition to his work in television, Medina co-wrote the film »Letters from War« (2016), which was featured in the Main Competition at Berlinale 2016 and earned the Portuguese Film Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, among other accolades.
