Vita

Lena Thiele, author and creative director of the Berlin-based media company Miiqo Studios UG, has been designing and producing award-winning digital media formats such as web series, interactive storytelling formats and games since 2003.

Her main focus is on the creative combination of state-of-the-art technology and high-quality journalistic content to create innovative formats that intensively involve the recipient and create an experience.

The production, the web series netwars/out of CTRL, has received numerous awards including the SXSW Innovation Award for Best Visual Media Experience, the Grimme Online Award and the Prix Italia 2015.

Since 2012, as Head of Studies and Trainer, she has developed the Audience Design Training Program at TorinoFilmLab. In addition, she worked as a trainer for international programs and universities such as the Dok Leipzig NetLab, Berlinale Residency, the HFF Munich, Filmakademie Ludwigsburg, or the ZHdK and as a consultant for the international media industry. In recent years she has been a member of the jury of the International Digital Emmy® Award in the non-fiction sector on several occasions. In 2018 she was a member of the jury of the Grimme Online Award. Lena Thiele completed her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with a Magister Artium degree.
