As part of the Cologne Climate Festival, a joint event titled »How We Make Films for Climate« – organized by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, and the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln – took place on July 10 at the Filmforum NRW. The event explored how film can contribute to the climate discourse  – both in terms of content and in the practical aspects of film production.
In her presentation »Sustainable Production Design«, Petra Maria Wirth (Head of Production Design, ifs) provided insights into resource-efficient practices in the art department. 
The subsequent moving documentary »Vergiss Meyn nicht« centered on the occupation of the Hambach Forest by climate activists. During the film discussion, moderator Sonja Hofmann (Filmfest Lünen, Filmbüro NW) spoke with KHM directors Fabiana Fragale, Kilian Kuhlendahl, and Jens Mühlhoff about, among other things, the advantages of collaborative work in portraying diverse perspectives and interpretive authority in documentary film.
