Many students and alumni will be participating in the 2026 Seriencamp, at the ifs Series Showcase, with projects or as panelists.

• Panel Discussion »Series as Brands« in cooperation with the European Showrunner Programme of the ifs

From 9 to 11 June, »Seriencamp« Festival and Conference – will once again showcase a wide selection of international series and bring together national and international series creators for panels, pitches, and networking at the Cinenova cinema in Cologne.

»Talent in Progress«: ifs Series Showcase«
On 11 June at 2 p.m., the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln invites you to the series showcase »Talent in Progress: ifs Series Showcase«, offering insights into writing projects from various stages of the ifs degree programmes: MA Serial Storytelling, BA Film/Screenwriting, BA Film/Creative Producing, and MA Digital Narratives. The projects range from mini-series to primetime series and also include an animated series and an interactive project. Their protagonists include rival gangs, investigative journalists, and robots fighting aliens. The pitch will be moderated by ifs professor Dr. Melanie Andernach.

Panel »Series as Brands« 
On 10 June at 10 a.m., in cooperation with the »European Showrunner Programme«, the panel »Series as Brands: Reimagining and Expanding IPs for the New Media Ecosystems« will take place. Christina Christ, Stefanía Halldórsdóttir, Steven Kane, Guido Reinhardt, and Gregor Sauter will discuss how a strong IP can evolve from a single series into a broad narrative universe and how current strategic approaches incorporate transmedia thinking.
The »European Showrunner Programme« of the ifs is funded by the Creative Europe – MEDIA programme of the Europeam Union and supported by the Swiss FOCAL foundation.

Numerous ifs alumns are part of Seriencamp....
... and will present current projects during additional pitches at the Seriencamp Conference: 
Selected for the Co-Production Pitch on 9 June at 2:15 p.m. is the German-Finnish action-thriller series »Armadillo«, written by Matti Laine, an alumnus of the European Showrunner Programme (ESP) of the ifs. At the Writers’ Vision Pitch on 10 June at 10:15 a.m., two writers and ESP alumni will present new series projects: Creator and head writer Kerstin Höckel will present the series project »European Dreamers«, and writer Maria Hinterkoerner will present the series project »Venus«
Maria Hinterkoerner will also be a guest at the Fish Bowl Talk »I Just Came Up With It / Kill Your Darlings?« on 9 June at 1:30 p.m., where she will discuss, among other things, how series development works today and how market logic and creative vision can be reconciled. 
In the »Work in Progress / Next From...Arte« segment on Arte on 9 June at 3:20 p.m., the network offers exclusive insights into highly anticipated new series—including »Drohnenland« (Editing by, among others, ifs alumn Lucas Seeberger) and »Die Falle«, featuring numerous ifs alumns such as Nicole Kortlüke, Renata Salazar Ivancan (Editing), Cordula Jedamski (Production Designer), Ricci Becker (Prop Master), Carsten Wesche-Böttcher (Set Dresser), and Ann Katrin Hölz (On-Set Dresser).

... or serve as panelists and hosts for discussion sessions:
ESP graduate Kerstin Höckel will be participating in the fishbowl discussion »Turn The Screen?« on 10 June at 2 p.m., where vertical content, micro-dramas, and the future of storytelling will be discussed.
ifs alumns from the MA Serial Storytelling programme will moderate three panel discussions: Writer Marvin Meiendresch will host the panel discussion »The New Pulse of Medical Drama« on the comeback of medical dramas. Author Ljubica Luković will moderate the panel »Writing Youth: Who Gets It Right?« on young adult series. Author Anna Richards will moderate the discussion »Greenlight, What Now? From Pitch to Production«, using the series »Find Me« (working title) as an example.

... or play a key role in series featured in the festival programme: 
New series featuring ifs alumni are also being presented at the Seriencamp Festival: Writer and Serial Storytelling graduate Lena Tusche was part of the writers’ room for »All Heroes Are Bastards«. The head writer of »Club der roten Bänder – Die neue Generation« is ESP alumn Adrian Spring; other ifs alumns from the BA Film programme are also involved, including Nick Julius Schuck (Junior Producer), Ann-Katrin Pauly (Lighting Assistant), Dominique Kleen (Set Decorator), and Luisa Buchholz (Set Dresser). Benjamin Ikes is responsible for editing the series »The Flaws/Das Manko«—already the winner of the Seriencamp Official Competition for Best International Series. On »Back for more«, numerous ifs alumni worked in the art department, including Jan Zinn (Art Director) and Christiane Krumwiede (Set Decorator). The producer of the series »Mermaid to lovers« was ifs alumn Anne Maschlanka, while Luisa Buchholz and Benedikt Runkel were responsible for production design.
