City of Lion

City of Lion

Ruben wants to belong to the elite, George wants to become a millionaire and Kolja wants to become a teacher. They are thieves. Professional thieves. Without money. With a dream. They want to go to L.A.. All they have to do is steal a suitcase. Leon is a mob boss. The suitcase belongs to him, and if you ask me, I'd say never go near a mafia boss's suitcase.

Ruben wants to belong to the elite, George to become a millionaire and Kolja a teacher. They are thieves. Professional thieves. Without money. With a dream. They want to go to L.A. - there they can get everything they want. All they have to do is steal a suitcase. Leon is the mob boss. The suitcase is his, and if you ask me, I'd say never go near a mafia boss's suitcase.
It goes from cunning bitches to French brothel owners, from professional killers to drug dealers, Ukrainian Nazis, German sponsors, Russians, and of course it's all about shootouts, car chases, thefts, screw-ups, betrayals, death, money, greed, envy. And love. And friendship, of course. In itself, "The City of Lion" is a hyperbole of what's going on in Ukraine right now - refined by a melancholic love for the homeland and a romantic love for gangster movies.
