But in the complex she only encounters the confused assistant David Baxter-Sully, who is pursuing his own experiments. When he tries to get rid of her, she looks around on her own and finds a grotesque creature in the atrium - half plant, half human. This is the work of David, who in his madness has transcended the boundaries of science. His manifesto: it is not the environment that must adapt to mankind, but mankind that must adapt to it. When Alexandra herself is seized by the mutation, she locks the laboratory to protect the outside world.
