I make films not because I want to, but because I have to. I got my first video camera for my 13th birthday and have been telling stories with pictures and sounds ever since. Life is too short to do things that don't excite me - and nothing excites me as much as the medium of film. I want to make films that touch and entertain, that challenge on a content rather than a formal level, and become part of the German film scene, which in my eyes is so much stronger than it is often portrayed. I'm less interested in being pinned down to individual genres than I am in true-to-life, complex characters in stories that make us see the world through different eyes, that point out grievances and generate empathy. I'm super excited to leave the sheltered world of short film and tackle "bigger" stories. Let's go!
