EMMA GATENA, born in 2000, raised in Kiel. When ever possible painted, drew, read, wrote stories, played theater, danced, filmed and took photos. During exchange year in 2017 fell in love with the culture and people of Aotearoa. Started to dream wild dreams about the film industry. After finishing
highschool in Germany explored Oceania for another two years, milked cows, experienced new adventures also read through all sorts of film and photography literature in rural libraries. Back in Germany made my way through internships, assistant plus freelancing jobs and got caught up in photography, commercial film making, TV reports for ZDF and NDR, stage design, metal art as well as construction metal work. Had exciting projects, met incredible people, learned a lot. Conclusion: the heart beats the highest for making movies. Studying at the ifs since 2023.
