I feel authenticity of story particularly through the design of the visual, so that stylization and conception can initiate the fall down the rabbit hole through which I enter the wonderland of narrative. Especially growing up, movies have given me confidence - you are understood and given a place of refuge. One of my favorite skills is drawing, which goes hand in hand with the urge to create, bringing enthusiasm for space and image. With the means that are available to me as a scenic designer: Color, material, the space and its effect, I frame the action and support the transmission of emotions. Scenic design is much more than just setting the space, and I am happy to create through my work the ground on which the film can unfold with its story. I like to be in the film, as a spectator and as a designer.
