Stage and costume designer Kathrin Frosch studied theater design at the Slade Academy of Fine Art in London.

Since the mid-nineties she has been a freelance artist for film, drama and opera.
She has worked at the Staatstheater Hannover, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Konzerttheater Bern, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin and Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Berliner Festspiele, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspiel Köln, Oper Basel, Ruhrfestspiele, Capetown Opera South Africa and Schauspiel Frankfurt, among others.
From 2003 to 2011 she was responsible for the visual concept and the overall design of the annual festival "Theatertreffen" (director: Iris Laufenberg) at the Berliner Festspiele, which had an impact on the Berlin cityscape.
She continuously designs film sets and videos in her theater work.

Workshops and guest lectureships she realizes at the invitation of the Goethe Institute Santiago de Chile, the Theatertreffen Berlin.
Since 2015 lecturer at the art academy Toneelakademie Maastricht.
Kathrin Frosch has been nominated several times for the best stage design in the annual critics' poll of the professional journal "Theater Heute".
From the 2023/24 season, head of set design at the Deutsches Theater Berlin.
