MELANIE FINSCHI was born in Safien, Switzerland, and grew up in Chur, Graubünden. She completed a commercial apprenticeship and, after working in the hospitality industry and obtaining her high school diploma, she began her Journalism and Communications studies at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in 2011. During her studies, she served as the editor-in-chief of a student magazine and gained experience in various Swiss (TV) editorial teams. After completing her studies, she worked as a video journalist, initially as a news reporter, and later as a video producer for "CHMedia". In this role, she was responsible for sponsored formats and online video content. In 2019, she, along with a small team, developed a documentary programme at the same media company and worked as a video reporter. Since 2022, she has been working as a freelance contributor, specialising in documentary, journalistic, and corporate projects, including research, production, scripting, and execution as needed.
Melanie Finschi completed her master's degree in "Entertainment Producing" at the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln in autumn 2025.
