MELANIE FINSCHI was born in Safien, Switzerland, and grew up in Chur, Graubünden. She completed a commercial apprenticeship and, after working in the hospitality industry and obtaining her high school diploma, she began her Journalism and Communications studies at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in 2011. During her studies, she served as the editor-in-chief of a student magazine and gained experience in various Swiss (TV) editorial teams. After completing her studies, she worked as a video journalist, initially as a news reporter, and later as a video producer for CHMedia. In this role, she was responsible for sponsored formats and online video content. In the fall of 2019, she, along with a small team, developed a documentary program at the same media company and worked as a video reporter. Since April 2022, she has been working as a freelance contributor, specializing in documentary, journalistic, and corporate projects, including research, production, scripting, and execution as needed. Studying at the ifs since 2023.
