ULDUZA MADATKHANOVA, originally from Azerbaijan, moved to Turkey in 2014 to pursue a degree in directing. After graduating from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in 2018, she directed several short films and worked in various positions as executive producer, art director and assistant director. Her experience as an editor for the acclaimed Turkish-Georgian documentary "Memtevri" sparked her interest in the genre. In December 2020, she shot her first documentary short film "Roots", which focuses on the disappearing Lezg ethnic minority in Balıkesir province, Turkey, to which she herself belongs. Ulduza is currently working on her documentary film "Spring Rituals", in which she explores the unique spring rituals in her hometown of Gusar, Azerbaijan. Studying at the ifs since 2023.
