Yann Thönnessen, born in 1987 in Viersen. After graduating from high school in 2008, on the road at home and abroad as singer and guitarist of the indie bands Supermutant and Chai Khat. After various publications and concert tours in 2015, the decision to study journalism in Berlin at the DEKRA Hochschule für Medien. As a working student for Axel Springer quickly realized where the journey will not go, landed in 2018 through an internship at ZDF. After his bachelor's degree, he specialized in crime and justice and wrote various true-crime documentaries for ZDF and ZDFinfo. In 2020, he moved to the funk format TRU DOKU, where he was responsible as editor and author for more than twenty films, which were nominated for the Grimme Award in 2021. Since 2022, Yann has been in charge of the funk format Hundert Hektar Heimat in cooperation with MDR.
