The film was directed and written by ifs student Patrick Paradon (MA Serial Storytelling), with DoP Patrick Dosanjh in charge of the camera. As part of the short film competition, a 99-second short film was shot in 99 hours on the subject of ‘THE POWER OF KINDNESS’. The result is »The Gesture« – based on an idea by Aleezay Aftab, Marija Mijušković and Patrick Paradon.

An overwhelmed young woman, Laura, is harassed by the constant social expectations and fears in her everyday life, represented by four figures, STEREOS, who accompany her everywhere. In a moment of utter exhaustion and isolation, it is a simple gesture of kindness that frees Laura for a moment from the maelstrom of pressure. The ifs team included Patrick Paradon (director & script), Kira Duckwitz (1st AC), Insiah Zaidi (set runner & clapper loader). The film was also shot at the ifs. Congratulations to the whole team!
