European Showrunner Think Tank and ifs Series Showcase

From 5 to 8 June, the »Series Camp« festival and conference will once again showcase a large selection of international series and bring together creators and series fans. A »European Showrunner Think Tank« with the Finnish author and showrunner Miikko Oikkonen (»Estonia«, »Bordertown«) will take place on 6 June at 10 a.m. as part of the festival - moderated by showrunner Barbara Petronio (»Suburra - Blood on Rome«, »Uonderbois/Wonderboys«).

In the afternoon, the ifs invites you to the ifs Series Showcase from 4.15 to 5.00 pm, which offers insights into writing projects from different phases of the ifs degree programmes BA Film/Screenwriting, BA Film/Creative Producing and MA Serial Storytelling (in English). The projects range from mini-series to digital short formats and from prime-time drama to experimental documentary series. The pitch will be moderated by ifs-Prof. Dr Joachim Friedmann.

Alumni of the ifs will be represented with their projects at screenings and on panels:

Prof. Dr Joachim Friedmann will also be a discussion guest on the panel »SerienCampus: Daily & Weekly Soaps as Incubators for Talent« on 05.06. at 11.30 am.

On 5 June, alumnus Simon Ruschmeyer will lead a workshop on »Visual Worldbuilding with AI - Using Image Generators for Concept & Production«.

On the same day, the series »Game over my ass« by Network Movie Film- und Fernsehproduktion, in which alumna Helena Lucas is involved as scriptwriter, will also be presented as part of the co-production pitches.

Alumnus Malte Arnemann is represented together with Béla Can Leon at the »Pilot Peek Screening« with the project »Preferably Yesterday«.

Alumna Ljubica Lukovic presented her series project »Brain Drain«, which she developed in collaboration with alumnus Matija Dragojevic, as part of the Series Accelerator Pitch: EWA Network.

On 6 June at 13:45, ifs alumni Beverly Stura-Cura, Marcel-Jana Urban, Alejandro Mathé and Kai Kreuser will join Marlene Melchior to discuss experiences and perspectives on the representation of queerness in stories and development at the DDV Screenwriters' Lounge panel entitled »Queer Representation in Story Development«.

The festival programme includes the series »I am Scrooge« (dir: H. Salonen), for which ifs alumnus Zoltan Geller as Coloist, Vanessa Horsmann as Costume Design Assistant, Mandy Becker for Set Costume, Jonas Thoma as Editing Assistant, Matthias Backmann as Compositing Supervisor, Christian Heynert as Compositing Artist, Timo Stampa as 3D Artist and ifs-Prof. Rolf Mütze as VFX Executive Producer, ifs student Fine Gumpert was an intern on the camera set and student Stella Guzmán was on the team as a wardrobe assistant.

Zoltan Geller was also part of the team as colourist for the second season of »Kleo«.

The ZDFneo Comedy Special presents, among other things, the third season of »Ich dich auch«, for which Dario Haramustek was part of the writing team, Florian Trautmann was the production design assistant and Jonas Thoma was the editing assistant. Nora Stenutz was responsible for the production design for the series »Jugend«, which was also presented.
