MA Film on Tour! The MA Film students spent two weeks in the USA together with ifs Prof. Ciro Cappellari and visited the students of the UNCSA (University of North Carolina, School of Arts). In the fall, five students and Prof. Janet Allard from the UNCSA were at the ifs. As part of the cooperation, two jointly developed documentary short films were produced on a socially relevant topic. During the first week, they worked together on the second short film, made preparations and visited the university. In the last week, the shooting of the short film "Journeys of Suburbia" took place. The film is a documentary about the almost non-existent public transportation in a small town in North Carolina, USA, where mobility is an expression of social status and deep structural racism. Since yesterday the MA Film students are back in Cologne and are preparing the editing. Here are a few impressions from the southern states!
