Alumna Fiona Brands has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Award in the Editing: Fiction category for her work as editor on the series »Slow Horses« (photo). Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony on 10 May.
Alumna Antonia Schäfer has been nominated for the German Cinematography Award in the Short Film category for her cinematography in »They Made You Into A Weapon And Told You To Find Peace«. The awards ceremony will take place on 8 May in Cologne. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
»Das Glück der Tüchtigen« opens in theaters on 16 April. The film features ifs professor Julia Daschner as DoP and alumna Utta Hagen as production designer.
Julia Daschner is also the cinematographer for the children’s film »Pferd am Stiel«, which opens in theaters on 23 April.
On 23 April, the six-part miniseries »Half Man«, directed by alumna Alexandra Brodski (co-directed with Eshref Reybrouck), premieres on HBO Max.
Starting 30 April, the feature film »American Sweatshop« will be in theaters, with numerous alumni contributing to the production: Jutta Freyer (production designer), Katja Schlömer (set decorator), Maren Buchholz (assistant set decorator), Jan Feil (set prop master), and Dominique Kleen (set dresser).
Filming has just wrapped on the feature film »Große Mutter« (working title), for which alumnus Felix Tonnat served as DoP.
Filming is currently underway for a thriller series (as yet untitled) based on the story of »Struwwelpeter« for HBO Max. The series is written by alumnus Matja Dragojevic and co-head writer Bob Konrad.
ifs professor and alumna Dr. Melanie Andernach will be a guest speaker at the »Founders Talk« hosted by the Mediengründerzentrum NRW and the International Women’s Film Festival Dortmund + Cologne on 23 April at the Filmhaus in Cologne.
