The film ‘Cranko’ (directed by Joachim A. Lang), for which alumnus Jan Henrik Pusch is responsible for editing, will be released in cinemas on 3 October.
One week later, ‘Der Buchspazierer’ (directed by Ngo The Chau) opens in cinemas. The literary film adaptation was based on a screenplay by ifs alumnus Andi Rogenhagen. The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW-funded production is co-produced by alumnus Levin Hübner for Wüste Film West and alumna Heike Steen as set decorator.

Prof. Rolf Mütze (VFX Executive Producer) and alumni Matthias Backmann (VFX On-Set Supervisor) and Robin Pfister (CG Supervisor) are also involved in the cinema release of ‘Woodwalkers’ (D: Damian John Harper) on 24 October.
The fourth and final season of ‘Tschugger’ (D: David Constantin, Johannes Bachmann) celebrates its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival. Alumnus Mats Frey is once again part of the screenwriting team.

Alumnus Dario Haramustek is part of the team of screenwriters for the third season of ‘Ich dich auch’ (R: div.), which starts on 8 October on ZDFneo. Alumnus Florian Trautmann is working as an assistant production designer, alumnus Jonas Thoma as an assistant editor.
The series ‘Schwarze Früchte’ (Elisha Smith-Leverock, David Uzochukwu) will be available in the ARD media library from 18 October. Alumna Jessica Kaczmarek is responsible for the production design.

Alumna Friederike Dörffler is responsible for the editing of ‘Wolfsland - In der Schlinge’ (D: Ole Zapatka), which is scheduled to premiere on ARD on 31 October at 8.15 pm.

Since 2022, the Bavarian Television Award has been presented under the new title ‘Blue Panther - TV & Streaming Award’. ‘Maxton Hall - The World Between Us’ (D: Tarek Roehlinger, Martin Schreier) is also nominated for the award, which will be presented on 23 October, in the “Best Series” category. Alumnae Juliana Lima Dehne and Zoe Magdalena have each written the screenplay for an episode.

‘Ich will alles’ (D: Luzia Schmid), a cinema documentary about Hildegard Knef, is as good as finished. Prof Hajo Schomerus is responsible for the camera, alumna Yana Höhnerbach is in charge of editing.

The TV film ‘Strike’ (director: T. Wacker), for which alumna Helena Lucas (together with Volkan Isbert, Julia Alina Kessel) wrote the screenplay, is also still being shot.

Prof Katalin Gödrös is a guest at the Edimotion Festival for Film Editing and Montage Art with her film ‘Jakobs Ross’. Isabel Meier, editor of the film, is nominated for the Filmstiftung NRW Editing Award Feature Film.

Alumna and director Alisa Kolosova is delighted to receive funding from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg for her debut feature film ‘Ameisen fressen kein Halva’ (AT).

The Film Festival Cologne, which starts on 17 October, will once again screen numerous films with the participation of alumni and professors:
18 Oct, 8.30 pm, Top TV ‘A Better Place’
Alumna Karin Kaci is one of the two head writers for the series ‘A Better Place’ (A. Berrached, K. Bock).

18 Oct, 9.30 pm / 20 Oct, 6 pm, NRW competition ‘The Outrun’
Prof. Rolf Mütze was involved in the production of the feature film ‘The Outrun’ (director: N. Fingscheidt) as VFX Executive Producer, alumnus Matthias Backmann as Compositing Artist.

19.10., 2 pm / 22.10., 9.30 pm, NRW competition ‘The Return of the Projectionist’
The documentary film ‘The Return of the Projectionist’ (D: O. Aghazadeh) was produced by alumnus Lino Rettinger, among others, and edited by Nicole Schmeier.

20 Oct., 3 p.m. / 21 Oct., 6.30 p.m., NRW competition ‘The Third Brother’
The documentary film ‘Der dritte Bruder’ was developed by alumna Kathrin Jahrreiss (writer & director) in the ifs Masterclass Non-Fiction and supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. With Nicole Schmeier as editor, another alumna is involved in the film.

20 October, 6 pm, Special Screenings ‘Leader and Seducer’
Prof. Rolf Mütze (visual effects supervisor), the alumni Matthias Backmann (compositing supervisor), Christian Heynert (compositing artist), Timo Stampa (3D artist), Zoltan M. Geller (colourist), Jonas Thoma (assistant editor) and Maximilian Rodegra (sound editor) were involved in ‘Führer und Verführer’ (director: J.A. Lang).

20 October, 8.15 pm, Special Screenings ‘Tatort - Colonius’
Alumna Charlotte Rolfes directed the new Cologne ‘Tatort’, alumna Cordula Jedamski was responsible for the set design.

21 Oct, 6 pm / 23 Oct, 7 pm, NRW competition ‘The Assessment’
Prof. Rolf Mütze (visual effects supervisor), the alumni Matthias Backmann (vfx on-set supervisor), Christian Heynert (compositing artist), Justus Maus (junior compositing artist), Robin Pfister (cg artist), Timo Stampa (cg lead artist), Samuel Jaeger (supervising art director), Lea Preuße (assistant art director), Heike Steen (Set Decorator), Luisa Niederschuh (Props Assistant), Katja Tauber (Set Dresser) and Daniel Brodt (Food Stylist) as well as ifs student Fraenzi Heinrich (Personal Assistant Director), Lia Campbell (Production Assistant) and Marlene Sandmann (Junior Compositing Artist) were involved in the feature film ‘The Assessment’ (R: F. Fortune).

18 October, 6 pm, Special Screenings ‘Uferpark - Good Times, Wild Times’
Alumnus David Gruber is a Commissioning Editor in the team of ‘Uferpark - Gute Zeiten, Wilde Zeiten’ (D: P. Schlosser, N. Keil).
