Magadan was the northeastern transit camp of the Gulag at the time of the Soviet Union.
Countless innocent people were deported to Siberia and died there in freezing labor camps. Of these so-called "seki", only a few survived and still live in the Kolyma today. This film is about the people of Magadan, their painful memories of the Gulag, coming to terms with the trauma and their personal attitudes towards freedom.
