After his arrest, Jan is being interrogated.

He is convinced that he has done the right thing. Six months earlier, the young policeman meets his childhood sweetheart Sophia and her boyfriend Lukas in a pub. Unlike with his colleagues, Jan feels a sense of community when he is with them. And he shares their concerns about a misguided world. For Sophia, there is only one salvation for humanity: the deity Ophidius. Jan, at first in doubt, sinks deeper and deeper into a system of occultism and conspiracy myths - until Sophia demands that he sacrifices a human being in the name of Ophidius.
