ALEXANDRA TAMAYO - As an adventurist living a wildlife paradise, Alexandra began to film as a way of sharing real stories about the relationship between humans and nature. Born in October 1994 in Ecuador, she studied Environmental Communication and Documentary Film at Universidad San Francisco de Quito. The idea of generating climate-resilient development pathways and connecting climate action with economic and social change with media lead her to create »Tres Historias del Mar«, a short documentary about the complex relationship between migratory ocean species and fishing in a place with high dependency on natural recourses. In 2019, she filmed »Lack of Water Mom«, a short documentary that was inspired in the role of women in food sovereignty and water access in rural areas of her country. Sharing scientific information in a creative media format motived her to work for the Environmental Ministry of Ecuador, then in several projects for the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). Exploring new tools and future oriented media techniques brought her curiosity now to ifs Köln.
